Threads for business: the seven rules we start with
How a brand can start on Threads with no ad budget: voice, rhythm, conversation and honest lead counting. Notes from YUZU BUREAU.
Threads works differently from Instagram. People notice ideas, not pictures. A brand used to a beautiful grid has to learn to speak again. These are the seven rules we start with for every client.
1. Voice first, posts second
Before you write anything, ask how your brand would sound as a person sitting across the table. Warm and ironic, precise and strict, bold? Voice matters more than frequency. Without it, a hundred posts are just noise.
2. Short beats long
Short posts get read to the end and get more replies. One idea per post. If the idea is long, turn it into a thread of several messages.
3. Rhythm over inspiration
Consistency matters on Threads. We plan several posts a day: morning, midday and evening, when people scroll. Rhythm keeps the attention of both the algorithm and the audience.
4. The founder is the brand’s best voice
People prefer talking to people. A founder’s personal account next to the brand account builds a trust a logo rarely earns. Rhode and many niche brands grew exactly this way.
5. Conversation matters more than posting
Reply to every comment. Leave thoughtful replies under creators your audience reads. Threads is a place for conversation, and a brand that stays silent in the replies loses half its reach.
6. One clear action
Every post that sells should ask for one action: send a word by DM, follow the link in the profile, book a table. Not three at once.
7. Count leads, not likes
Create a separate WhatsApp link with a prefilled message and a promo code for guests from Threads. In a month you will see not just views but revenue.
Good writing sells more quietly, and for longer.
